Description: In this Physics video for Class 12 in Hindi we explained what total internal reflection of light and critical angle are. We also derived the formula interrelating critical angle and the refractive index. This is a topic of Chapter 9 - 'Ray Optics and Optical Instruments' from NCERT for Class 12. When light travels from an optically denser medium to a rarer medium at the interface, it is partly reflected back into the same medium and partly refracted to the second medium. This reflection is called the internal reflection. In total internal reflection phenomenon there is no refraction and the entire incident ray will get reflected.
